The Aaron Rodgers/Adam Schefter 🥩
No, for those of you anxiously awaiting news (aka, Jets and Packers fans), we still don’t have an actual trade on the books. But, for those of you who might have missed it, Aaron Rodgers did join the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday to “clear the air” on what the holdup has been with his looming trade. (Hint: he says it’s Green Bay.)
You can watch the entire show here — or, you can save yourself the time and just read the best quotes, which we’ve compiled for you.
“When I came out of the darkness, something changed.”
What Aaron Rodgers meant: “When I was done hibernating, I realized the Packers were shopping me for a trade.”
How we all read it: "I’m considering a career in songwriting.”
“I’m debatably the best player in franchise history.”
We never said Aaron Rodgers was humble. 🤷🏼♀️
What’s objectively funny about this statement is the fact that the other player you might argue is the best in Packers history = QB Brett Favre. You know, that one guy Rodgers was drafted to replace before Favre was eventually traded to the New York Jets. Does this story sound familiar?
FWIW, Brett Farve still stands as the Packers’ All-time passing leader (with 25 more games to his name), though Rodgers has surpassed his passing touchdown total while throwing 181 fewer interceptions to boot. Rodgers is probably right.
Regardless, what this team is going through with the Jordan Love/Aaron Rodgers fiasco is just history repeating itself. I wonder which quarterback the Packers will draft as
Last, but not least…
“Lose my number.”
Apparently, ESPN insider Adam Schefter somehow got ahold of Aaron Rodgers’ phone number and reached out. Rodgers wanted nothing to do with Schefter, undoubtedly looking for the scoop on the status of a potential trade.
Rodgers’ response? “Lose my number.” Whoops.
Gaming Society’s social media team was quick to mock up a t-shirt with the quote, and demand is SOARING.📈📈📈 EVEN ESPN THINKS SO.
Don’t let your dreams be dreams, because sometimes you’ll dream up a shirt so perfect, it lands you on @GetUpESPN

Other NFL free agency notes
Biggest surprise ➡️ Ezekiel Elliott was released by the Dallas Cowboys. The end of an era. Zeke finished his career in Dallas as the team’s fifth all-time scorer with 10,598 scrimmage yards and 80 touchdowns to his name.
Where does Zeke play next? SportsLine notes the Chargers, Bills, Chiefs and Ravens as the most likely landing spots… for now.Best signing so far ➡️ Bengals signed OT Orlando Brown Jr. He was (in my oh-so-humble opinion) the best offensive lineman available in free agency. Joe Burrow has been sacked 153 times in his three seasons, and now they finally make a move to protect him.
Most underrated signing ➡️ RB Rashaad Penny to the Eagles. The NFL’s best rushing offense just signed a really, really good running back. The kicker? He hasn’t been able to stay healthy, dealing with everything from hamstring issues to a torn ACL and finally, a broken leg suffered in Week 5 of the 2022 season.
Here’s the good news, Philly fans: in games where he’s received 10+ carries (only 12 so far in his career), he’s averaged a whopping 122 rush yards per game!Potential trade incoming! ➡️ Chargers star RB Austin Ekeler has asked the Chargers permission to seek a trade… and that permission has been granted. Ekeler has been a stunning underdog story, having gone from UDFA to one of the league’s most prolific running backs.
He’s had 1,500+ scrimmage yards in three of the last four seasons, including a whopping 38 touchdowns combined in the last two years. Regardless of his landing spot, the future will be bright.

Furman’s odds to win the 2023 NCAAM College Basketball sit at +35000 (Bet $10 to win $3,500 if they win) — meaning the chances are super small… but ANYTHING is possible in March Madness. ❤️

✨March Madness: Round 1 Game To Watch 👀
Who: No. 13 Kent State vs. No. 4 Indiana
When: Friday, March 17 at 9:55 p.m. ET
How to watch: TBS or live stream with NCAA
Here at Gaming Society, we ❤️ a good underdog. One underdog we really ❤️ is soon to take the stage for the Big Dance. Meet the Kent State Golden Flashes, everyone — the Midwest Region’s No. 13 seed, set to go head-to-head with the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday night.
Did you pick some potential upsets in your Men’s March Madness brackets? Cause Gaming Society contributor Dan Treadway has already pre-written an article celebrating Kent State winning it all. Maybe you’ll fall in love with this underdog, too.
Here, he does his best to predict EXACTLY HOW their hypothetical tournament run gets rolling. 🔮 (BTW — if none of this comes to fruition, please erase this from memory. It never happened.)
It starts with NCAAM Tournament MVP (and now national sensation) Sincere Carry. His name, which sounds like a dribbling violation that you want to let slide because it was performed in such good faith, is now synonymous with the likes of Jameer Nelson and Kemba Walker on the pantheon of all-time clutch college guards.
Carry, a fifth-year senior, never missed a beat after averaging more than 24 points per game during the MAC conference tournament. Sincere’s 35-point explosion in Kent State’s opening round upset of Indiana turned out to be just a small taste of what was to come. Combined with Malique Jacobs, the MAC defensive player, Kent State not only competed with teams more talented on paper, they dictated the pace of every single game. Add in the elite three-point shooting of Jalen Sullinger—no longer known as just Jared's nephew—the MAC juggernauts suffocated most opponents before halftime.
FWIW, we went ahead and published it because the chances we’ll actually get to celebrate them winning are infinitesimally small (+50000, in fact — This means that a $10 bet on them would make you $5,000 in profit if they won it all! 😳).
A wiser bet might be to have the Kent State Golden Flashes make the Elite Eight, if you’re digging the vibes of this underdog like we are. Odds are at +1600 ahead of their first-round matchup, meaning a $10 bet would make $160 in profit if they make it!
